Internet security and protection measures
Unauthorized information uploading or revision of any information contained in the NMH services provided is strictly prohibited. Please be reminded that the aforesaid unauthorized actions are against the law and subject to prosecution.  
To maintain Internet security and ensure continued services to our Internet users, the NMH Portal provides the following security and protection measures:
1.The Internet hacker detection system monitors Internet traffic to determine unauthorized uploading attempts or hackers attempting to revise or maliciously sabotage website pages.
2.A firewall has been installed to ward off illegal access, destruction, or pilferage of data. The measure prevents unauthorized or unlawful Internet usage, thereby assuring the protection of user interests.
3.A virus scanning program regularly scans the system to provide users with a safer website browsing environment. 
4.Unscheduled simulated hacker attack conducted from time to time to check the system recovery procedure in the event of a security incident and to provide system with the necessary security defense grade. 
5.A daily file backup procedure ensures that all files are backed up in the mainframe. 

An automatic acceptance of incoming secured protected e-mail notices from related operating system makers or application program makers, and the installation of the suitable Mess Patch (PATCH) pursuant to the e-mail recommendation.

In order to facilitate the public to better utilize the website information, part of National Museum of History’s publicly posted information and materials on its website,, that are protected under copyright provisions may be reauthorized for public use without cost in a non-exclusive manner. The users are not limited to time and by region to reproduce, adapt, edit, publicly transmit or utilize with other methods, and as well as to develop various products or services (herein known as derivations). This authorization will not be retracted hereafter, and the users do not have to acquire any written or other methods of authorization from the Administration. However, when using it, the user should state the source. 
II. Information on Related Items:
(a) The authorized scope is only within the scope protected under copyright. It does not include other intellectual property rights, including but not limited to the provision of patents, trademarks and administration’s logo.
(b) Whether or not the said person’s actively publicized or legally required publicized personal information can be collected, processed or utilized, the user must follow the related provisions based on the Personal Information Protection Act, and plan to execute the related measures required by law.
(c) Because parts of contents in the units listed below involve the rights of photos, videos and contracted case writings or other works which are not owned by the administration, the approval from original right owner must be duly obtained before use. The units are as follows:

III. Should be prudential not to infringe upon a third party in moral rights in copyrights (including the rights to identify names and the rights to ban unjustifiable change.)
IV. After using the information and material provided by this authorization, one should not maliciously alter its related information. If edited and the reworked information does not match the original, the user is liable for civil and criminal legal responsibilities.
